Trauma Therapy for Women and Teens
Trauma affects people on a deep emotional level, but women and teens often experience trauma in unique ways. At North Shore Professional Therapy, we are committed to providing trauma-focused therapy that empowers women and adolescents to heal and regain control of their lives. My approach includes both top-down (identifying, addressing, and processing thoughts about yourself and the world that have been impacted by trauma) as well as bottom-up (somatically tailored and nervous system-based strategies for coping with and resolving physiological symptoms). For more details on this approach see this article.
For teens, trauma can be overwhelming, affecting their sense of safety, self-worth, and relationships. Our trauma therapy is designed to help teens process their experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Using approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), we help teens navigate the emotional aftermath of trauma and rebuild a sense of security.
Women, too, face unique challenges when it comes to trauma, whether from relational abuse, childhood experiences, or significant life events. Our trauma therapy for women focuses on reclaiming your sense of self, rebuilding trust, and fostering healing through a compassionate, supportive and evidence-based approach.
Telehealth is available for both trauma therapy for women and teens, ensuring that those who may feel hesitant about in-person therapy or have logistical constraints can still access high-quality care.
